Dallas, Tx (February 11, 2005)--The 59th-ranked Cougars dropped their third match of the year to NCAA powerhouse and 16th-ranked TCU 6-1.
The Horned Frogs seemed too much for the Cougars as they started off in a hole, getting swept by TCU for the doubles point.
The Cougars would lose early, as the first three singles to finish would be TCU victories. But the men in blue and white didn't give up. Nima Roshan, playing number two singles for the Cougars, beat TCU's Jacopo Tezza in straight sets 6-3,6-4. It would be the Cougars only point in the match.
Playing at the three singles spot, Cougar James Ludlow gave TCU's Radu Barbu a run for his money. Losing the first set 6-2, Ludlow would battle back and get the second set 3-6. Ludlow couldn't capitalize in the final set as he lost a third set heartbreaker 7-5 for only his second loss of the year. BYU's Shane LaPorte would also drop a tough fought three set match to TCU's Jordan Freitas 2-6,6-4,6-4.
The Cougars end February play with two home matches. They take on the University of Denver on Friday the 25th, while University of Colorado visits the next day, the 26th. Overall, the 59th ranked Cougars are 4-3.
