PROVO, Utah (Feb. 17, 2005)Senior forward Kristen Kozlowski has been named to the 2004-05 CoSIDA Academic All-America District VIII Second Team.

The All-America citation is the first such honor for Kozlowski during the two years she's been with the BYU women's basketball program.

Kozlowski, a 6-2 forward from Centerville, Utah is majoring in psychology and has a 3.42 GPA. She's the lone athlete from the Mountain West Conference to receive the accolade.

One of two co-captain's on this year's team, Kozlowski is BYU's third leading scorer with 9.9 points and has the second best average in rebounds with 5.1 per game. She garnered MWC Player of the Week honors in January and was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Invitational in December.

Kozlowski has started in every game this year and has scored in double figures in a total of 11 games to date. Currently, she ranks second in field goal percentage in the MWC with (.544), seventh in free-throw percentage (.762) and tenth in the offensive rebound category grabbing an average of 2.14 boards per game.

She and the other three seniors on this year's team will be recognized for their BYU career accomplishments prior to the 2 p.m., start of Saturday's MWC game against New Mexico. It's the Cougars final home game of the season.
