Tempe, Arizona (February 20, 2005)--BYU's 59th --ranked men's tennis team held the lead against NCAA powerhouse and 27th --ranked Arizona State when the match was canceled due to weather.

"We are really disappointed that we couldn't finish our match," said head coach Brad Pearce. "The boys were playing really well against a top ranked team. It would have been a very good match."

The Cougars had won the doubles point earlier in the match, and were looking at 1-0 lead on the Sun Devils when they had to pack it in.

This marks the second time this season that victory was snatched away by Mother Nature. Earlier in the year the Cougars were making a tremendous effort to win at the University of San Diego when the match was stopped because of rain.
