PROVO, Utah (Mar, 13, 2005) BYU's women's basketball team has received an invitation to the 2005 Sportsview.tv WNIT, and will play Gonzaga, Wednesday in Spokane at 7 p.m.

The 19-10 Cougar women will be making their sixth postseason appearance after finishing third in the Mountain West Conference regular season with a 9-5 record. While in Denver, the team advanced to the semifinals of the MWC Championships before falling to instate rival Utah.

Gonzaga comes into the WNIT with a 27-3 record. The first-round game will be played at the McCarthey Athletic Center.

In the WNIT, BYU has a 3-3 overall record, last participating in 2001 when they beat Oregon State in Corvallis, and then lost to the University of Hawai'i in Honolulu.

Under head coach Jeff Judkins, the Cougars have participated in a postseason tournament in two of the last four years, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA tournament in 2002.

Tickets can be purchased starting Monday morning at the McCarthey Athletic Center Ticket Office. Prices are $10 for reserved seats, $7 for general admission and $5 for children, and seniors. To purchase tickets by phone, fans can call 509-323-4202.
