Twenty one Cougar baseball players were honored as scholar-athletes recently at a banquet by the BYU Student Athlete Academic Center.
Among the top grade point averages for these baseball players was senior outfielder Kory Knell, who had a 3.87 GPA last Fall Semester and a 3.98 GPA for last Winter Semester. The senior from Salt Lake City, who majors in accounting and minors in English, has also been nominated as an NCAA post-graduate scholar.
Other baseball players honored for exceeding a 3.2 GPA from either the Fall 2005 or Winter 2004 were Josh Barrett, Thomas Bills, Casey Cloward, Brad Hales, Tyler Heid, Nate Hess, Jeff Hiestand, Seth Iorg, Andrew Law, Tim Law, James Platt, Brandon Romney, Bryce Searle, Kevin Sloan, Justin Su'a, Brandon Taylor, Blake Torgerson, Ranger Wiens, Adam Wilkes, and Mitch Woolf.
