Indian Wells, Calif. (March 17, 2005)--The 59th ranked BYU Cougars beat Azusa Pacific, the top ranked NAIA team in the nation today 5-2 at the Indian Wells Invitational.

The Cougars handed top ranked Azusa Pacific only its second loss of the year, their only other loss was to the UCLA Bruins, who handed the BYU their first loss.

BYU got behind early, losing the doubles point to the talented squad. But BYU battled back nearly sweeping Azusa in singles. Azusa's only other point came at the one singles spot where the NAIA's top ranked player, Boris Baklov, sneaked by BYU's Nima Roshan to give Azusa their second and final point of the match.

The Cougars have now ripped off four straight wins, advancing to 8-3 on the year. BYU takes on College of the Desert tomorrow at noon.
