PROVO -- BYU junior pitcher Summer Tobias has been named Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the week after outstanding performances last week for the Cougars.
This is the second time this season Tobias has been given the award. She received pitcher of the week February 15 earlier this year.
Tobias posted a 2-0 record and a save in three appearances for BYU last week that included a perfect game against UVSC and a two-hit complete game shutout against rival Utah. Against UVSC, she struck out a career-best, eight batters of the 18 that she faced.
Tobias currently has a 10-4 record with a 1.52 ERA.
