NCAA baseball statistics have been released for the first time this season and BYU is ranked in seven team categories and has four listings individually.
The Cougars, now 24-8-1 overall and 10-2 in the Mountain West Conference for first place, are ranked third in three categories nationally: in home runs with a 1.69 average, in doubles with a 2.91 average ahead of pace to break the school record, and slugging with a .568 percentage.
BYU is ranked eighth nationally with a .339 batting average, 12th in scoring at 8.5 runs per game, 21st in win-loss percentage at .734, and 30th in double plays per game at 1.06
Brandon Taylor is ranked 16th nationally in home runs per game with an average of .34 for his 11 dingers, while teammate Sean McNaughton is ranked 27th in that category with an average of .31 for 10 homers. Adam Carr of Oklahoma State leads the nation with 15 homers.
Taylor is ranked 28th in RBI with an average of 1.28 for his 41 total. McNaughton is ranked 25th in slugging with a .719 percentage on his 100 total bases.
