PROVO -- The No. 28 women's tennis team will host its final home matches of the season as they welcome No. 45 San Diego State and No, 41 UNLV.

The girls in blue and white play San Diego State Friday at 10 a.m., followed by the Lady Rebels Saturday at the same time.

The two matches will also close out conference play for BYU. The Cougs are a perfect 4-0 in conference and stand alone atop the conference standings. They have beaten Colorado State and Wyoming at home and New Mexico and Air Force on the road. If BYU wins both matches this weekend they would take the regular season Mountain West Conference Crown and get the No. 1 seed heading into the Conference Championships April 28th.

For the year, BYU is 16-3 with 6 wins coming over ranked schools. BYU's only losses have been to No. 10 Washington, No. 18 South Carolina and No. 26 Oregon. Two BYU singles players are ranked; Junior Olga Boulytcheva is No. 104 while Freshman Anastasia Sourkova is N0. 116. Sourkova also teams up with another Freshman, Jennifer Miccoli, as the country's No. 45 doubles duo.

The Low Down on the Competition

San Diego State comes to Provo with a 13-8 overall record, 3-2 MWC record and as the country's No. 45 ranked team. Their two conference losses were to UNLV and New Mexico. Last weekend the Aztecs beat No. 57 Long Beach State 5-2 to close out home play. San Diego State is lead by Alesya Vidov who posts a 6-15 singles record while going 14-6 in doubles.

The No. 40 Lady Rebels come into the final stretch of the season with an 11-6 overall record while only losing once in conference play to notch a 4-1 record. Their only conference loss of the year was to New Mexico earlier in the season. They most recently posted wins over Wyoming and Colorado State. UNLV is lead by the country's No. 28 ranked singles player Elena Gantcheva. Gantcheva has only lost three times all year in singles, going 13-3 and 6-3 in doubles. The Lady Rebels also boast the country's No. 60 doubles duo in Smith and Zsiros.
