PROVO -- During the first three weeks of the football season-ticket renewal period, BYU officials have reported season-ticket renewals and new season-ticket orders are being sold at an increased pace. According to marketing and promotions director Tony Jewkes, the BYU ticket office has taken over 500 new orders for season tickets.
"While there is still over four months to go before the start of the football season, people are excited about BYU Football again -- and for good reason," Jewkes said. "Evidenced by the steady pace at which new season tickets are being sold, BYU fans are clearly expressing their excitement."
The deadline for season-ticket renewals is Monday, May 2. Season tickets can be ordered on-line at www.BYUTickets.com or by calling (801) 422-BYU1. Tickets may also be purchased at the Marriott Center ticket office.
Season tickets prices start at $90, representing a savings of $28 over the single-game price. Fans can also purchase sideline bench seats for only $156, a savings of $44.
"It's not surprising that so many people are placing new orders, and that last year's season-ticket holders are coming back," Jewkes added. "Fans are clearly energized about the schedule, the new uniforms, and the direction Coach Mendenhall is taking this program."
The Cougars will have six home games during the 2005 season, including three games during the month of September. BYU will kickoff the season against Boston College on Saturday, Sept. 3. The following week, Sept. 10, BYU will play host to Eastern Illinois. On Sept. 24, the Cougars will renew an old conference rivalry with TCU. After league games at San Diego State and New Mexico, BYU will return to Edwards Stadium looking for their second straight win over Colorado State. On Oct. 29, the Cougars will take on Air Force, and will then conclude the home schedule on Nov. 19 with the annual in-state rivalry game.
