PROVO -- With just a week until the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the BYU track team heads north to compete in the Wildcat Twilight Invitational on Wednesday.

The one-day begins with the men's hammer throw at 3 p.m. and concludes with men's 4x400 relay at 8:55 p.m.

The Cougars come into the meet after two consecutive home meets, where they performed extremely well.

During the past week, Robbie Pratt and Julene Kaufusi broke the school pole vault records. Pratt cleared 18 feet 4.5 inches, giving him a new MWC record and the No. 1 mark in the nation this year. Kaufusi cleared 13 feet 3.5 inches, placing her second all-time in the conference and No. 12 in the nation.

In addition to Pratt and Kaufusi, the Cougars have earned over 50 NCAA regional qualifying marks.

The No. 15 men's team has six athletes currently ranked in the top-10 including Bryan Lindsay (1,500 meters), Josh McAdams (3,000-meter steeplechase), Josh Rohatinsky (10,000 meters), Robbie Pratt and Trent Powell (pole vault), and Rodrigo Mendes (triple jump.

The No. 17 women's team also has six athletes ranked in the top-10 including Heidi Magill and Aneta Lemeisz (800 meters), Rena Chesser (5,000 meters), Chelsea Smith (10,000 meters), Lindsey Metcalf (high jump) and Amy Menlove (long jump and heptathlon).

After the meet, the Cougars will rest until Wednesday when the conference championships begin in Fort Collins, Colo.
