TWO FORMER BYU PLAYERS COMPETE IN WORLD BOWL
PROVO -- Former BYU offensive tackle Ben Archibald helped lead the Amsterdam Admirals to a 27-21 victory over the Berlin Thunder in NFL Europe's World Bowl XIII on Saturday in Dýsseldorf, Germany.
Archibald, who was allocated to the Admirals by the New Orleans Saints, was the starting right tackle for Amsterdam. The Seaside, Ore., native was part of an offensive line that provided protection for the game's MVP, quarterback Kurt Kittner. Kittner was 15-of-28 for 239 yards and two touchdowns. Behind Archibald, the Admirals also racked up 110 yards rushing.
Former quarterback Bret Engemann was also a participant in World Bowl XIII. Engemann, an allocation from the Oakland Raiders, is a backup quarterback for Berlin.
