COLORADO SPRINGS -- BYU freshman forward Jessica Aquino was named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four goals in the Cougars' last two games.
Aquino, from Riverside, Calif., helped BYU secure a 5-1 win over Weber State by scoring twice in the first half and once in the second to pick up her first collegiate hat trick. The three goals were also the first of her collegiate career. Aquino also sealed the Cougars' 5-0 victory against Utah State by netting the final goal of the night. She has only taken six shots on the season, four of which resulted in goals.
The BYU women's soccer team is currently 4-0 and will face University of Denver on Friday and No. 14 University of Texas on Monday. The games are scheduled for 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively. Monday's game will be televised on BYUTV. Both games will be played at South Stadium.
