DALLAS -- With the offense clicking and the defense making big plays, the Cougars defeated the Pepperdine Waves 3-1 (30-18, 26-30, 31-29, 30-17) for the second straight night, Saturday at the UT-Dallas Activity Center.
BYU and Pepperdine were in Dallas for two exhibition matches in preparation for the upcoming 2006 season. BYU assistant coach Grayson DuBose said that everyone stepped up over the weekend and contributed in the victories.
"It was a great weekend because we were able to play everyone and everybody improved," DuBose said. "We competed very well."
The Cougars will open the 2006 season at home with two matches against Cal Baptist, Jan. 6 and 7.
