Bowl Announces Sell OutBowl Announces Sell Out

Record crowd to see BYU take on Cal Dec. 22 at Sam Boyd Stadium

LAS VEGAS - Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl Executive Director Tina Kunzer-Murphy announced late Friday that the Dec. 22 game is sold out for the first time in its 14-year history.

Just a year after setting an in-house record with a crowd of 27,784 that saw Wyoming defeat UCLA, this year's matchup between BYU and Cal is expected to be played before at least 10,000 more people at Sam Boyd Stadium.

"It is with great joy that I announce that we are sold out of tickets!" Kunzer-Murphy said. "A full house on December 22 will be a testament to the great fan support that both BYU and Cal enjoy. It is also a tribute to all of those people in this community - such as Rossi Ralenkotter, Rob Dondero and Roy Woofter -- that created this bowl and helped it grow for the last 14 years.

"We want to thank all the fans in Southern Nevada as well as those traveling to Las Vegas who are going to take part in what is going to be a real event between two entertaining football teams."

The game, which is set for 5 p.m. PT, will be televised nationally by ESPN.
