A native of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Meikle is a business major with a 3.85 cumulative grade point average. He helped the Cougars finish 6-5 overall, finish tied for second in the MWC at 5-3 and qualify for the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl.

Meikle is playing in his first season with the Cougars and has made an immediate impact. During the regular season, he caught 24 passes for 199 yards, rushed seven times for 39 yards and one touchdown and returned 20 punts for 143 yards. Against Boston College, he led the team with a career-high nine receptions, and in the TCU game, he set a career high with 53 receiving yards.

His first-career touchdown came against Air Force on a 12-yard run in the first quarter that put the Cougars up 14-0. His longest punt return was a 22-yarder in the third quarter against Notre Dame that put BYU in Irish territory and led to a Cougar touchdown that cut the Irish lead to 28-23.

Before coming to BYU, Meikle played at Snow Junior College for two seasons. He was named a first-team Academic All-American as a freshman.
