PROVO -- Each of the four Cougar multi-event athletes added points to the team score in the second day of the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships Thursday.

BYU senior Devin Howe set a personal record in the decathlon, placing second with a final score of 7,113 points. He jumped to a personal best of 13 feet 7.25 inches in the pole vault and won the javelin throw with a throw of 172 feet 1 inch. He also had a strong kick at the end of the 1,500 meters to finish second with a time of 4:42.77.

Teammate Kevin Keys also performed well, finishing sixth in the competition with 6,482 points. He had a personal best in the pole vault with a jump of 13 feet 11.25 inches and finished second in the javelin.

For the women, JennaBree Tollestrup finished seventh in her first outdoor conference competition, throwing to a new personal best in the javelin with a throw of 101 feet 4 inches. She finished the day with 4,851 points. Senior Liis Berendsen competed in her final conference competition, finishing eighth with 4,761 points. Berendsen had a personal record in the javelin with a throw of 99 feet 2 inches.
