PROVO -- BYU's women's soccer team is ranked no. 23 in this year's Soccer Buzz preseason poll, announced today.
Soccer Buzz released its Preseason National Top 30 and Regional Top 15 teams where the Cougars also ranked seventh in the West Region, one of the top regions in collegiate women's soccer.
The University of Georgia ranked 18th in the poll will host BYU on Sept. 1st in Athens. Other opponents receiving votes in the top 30 included Arizona and Utah.
In the West Region, three other MWC schools make the top 15 list with the Utes coming in at 11th, San Diego State at 13th and UNLV at 14th. Arizona was also in the top 15 in the West Region ranked 12th.
Earlier this week, the MWC Coaches picked BYU to win the MWC Regular Season Crown.
The Cougars hold their annual Blue/White game on Aug.16. One exhibition game against SUU is scheduled for Aug. 19, before the home season opener against Weber State on Aug. 25. The game kicks off at 7 p.m., from South Stadium.
