COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Mountain West Conference announced today the 2006 women's soccer broadcast schedule that will include six games and two "Soccer Insider" shows, marking the most television coverage of women's soccer in MWC history.
Five games and two "Soccer Insider" shows will be shown on the Mountain West Sports Network -- the mtn., with the Mountain West Tournament Championship Game to be broadcast nationally on CSTV: College Sports Television.
The "Soccer Insider" broadcasts are an innovative 'documentary-style' format featuring a never before inside look at the game preparation. The production crew will follow the two teams during the week, access the locker room for a "behind the scenes" feel, then mix that footage with game footage of the event and sound bites shot pre- and post-game.
Today's television announcement reflects the new partnership between CSTV Networks and Comcast for ownership and distribution of the mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network. The mtn. is the first-ever sports network dedicated to a collegiate conference.
