COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- BYU junior outside hitter Chelsea Goodman earned Mountain West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, marking her first award of the season and third of her career.

Goodman, a Mesa, Ariz., native, led the Cougars to conference wins over San Diego State and UNLV last week. Against the Aztecs, she recorded her seventh double-double of the season (15 kills, 16 digs), hitting .361 for the match. Against the Rebels, she had a match-high 17 kills, nine digs, four total blocks three assists and two service aces. Facing game-point at 29-28 in game one, she put down two straight kills, which put BYU in a position to take the game, 31-29. With the Cougars trailing 20-17 in game three, Goodman recorded three kills, a block assist and a service ace as part of a 9-3 Cougar run on the way to a 33-31 win.

"Goodman was unbelievable again," said BYU head coach Jason Watson following the UNLV match. "She was good at San Diego State, and she was good again this evening. She came up big for us."

For the week, Goodman averaged 4.57 kills, 3.57 digs, 0.57 blocks and 0.43 assists per game, while hitting .382 (32-6-68).
