MINNEAPOLIS (March 8,2007) -- After day one of the prelims at the 2007 NCAA Championships Cougar swimmer Angela Goodson turned in a time quicker than she swam in the Mountain West Conference Championships.
"Angela swam really well today," said BYU women's head swim coach Stan Crump. "She moved up a couple of places in the seedings and set herself up well for tomorrow."
Goodson swam in the 200 IM and her time of 2:02.69 was better than her time when she won the MWC title (2:03.16) two weeks ago. Goodson still has the final round for the 200 IM and the 100 fly and 200 fly.
Freshman Tawni Jones, an All-MWC diver, competed in the 1-meter dive scoring a 250.55 and placing 36th. Jones is one of the few freshman divers at the competition and will finish her NCAAC competition on Friday in the 3-meter dive.
