PROVO -- The BYU women's soccer team will compete against some of the nation's toughest competition as the Cougars will face the Texas A&M Aggies and the U-20 National Team this weekend.

The matchup against the Aggies will be the second game of the Cougars' five-day spring schedule. Texas A&M is the 2006 defending Big 12 Champion and finished up the 2006 season as the No. 6 team in the country. The Cougars are confident in the matchup as they won their last tournament, winning all five games in which they competed.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for our program," said BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood. "We will be competing against some of the very best players in the college game. Texas A&M has established themselves as one of the top women's soccer programs in the country and has consistently been a top 10 team over the past several years. We look forward to the challenge of this weekends games."

BYU will compete against Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, Friday at 5 p.m. with a matchup against the U-20 team following. The U-20 is a combination of the top freshmen and sophomore players in the NCAA coached by UCLA head coach, Jill Ellis. BYU defeated the U-20 team last spring 2-1.
