PROVO -- The Cougars ended their spring season winning all of their games at the BYU Fifth Annual Spring Tournament.
BYU faced up against Idaho State and Utah State winning 2-0 and 3-1 respectively.
In the first match-up of the tournament, BYU faced the Idaho State Bengels. The Cougars started the game strong with a goal made in the third minute by Katie Fellows. Another goal was made shortly after by Alyssa Vander Veur to ensure victory for BYU. Throughout the game, BYU dominated with more shots on goal.
BYU continued to flex their strength as they hit the field hard against Utah State. In the tenth minute of the game BYU scored their first goal made by Fellows. The second half also started strongly as Jessica Aquino made the score 2-0 in the 42nd minute of play. Katie Larkin went on to score the third goal of the night off a fee kick deflection. All starting forwards scored during the game.
"One of our main goals this weekend was to finish strong," said Rockwood. "I was very pleased with our effort and performance in our last game of the spring season.The team has worked very hard over the past four months, and we have seen tremendous improvement in both individual development, and team play."
Closing out the spring season, the Cougars are 12-1 with the only loss to No. 11 Boston College. BYU will begin their fall season on August 22.
