Eight BYU baseball players have been named to the Academic All-Mountain West Conference team.
All-America and Academic All-American pitcher Jesse Craig (3.82, exercise science) heads the list of the eight Cougars selected to the honor. Joining Craig are outfielder Collin Fanning (3.16 psychology), infielder Austin Hall (3.20 open major), first baseman Kasey Ko (3.27 exercise science), pitcher Jordan Muir , (3.06 biology) catcher J.T. Musso (3.55 pre-communications), second baseman Kent Walton (3.08 EC EN Pre Prof Program) and outfielder Stephen Wells (3.25 open major). Craig, Ko and Muir are repeat selections to the Academic All-MWC team.
Those named to the Academic All-Mountain West Conference team have completed at least one academic term at their member institution, maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and have been a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
In addition to the above named players, catcher Wes Guenther, utility player Jason Johnson, outfielder Leon Johnson, and pitchers David Parry and J.D. Stambaugh were named Scholar Athletes by the BYU Student Athlete Academic Center.
