COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- (Feb. 5, 2007) -- BYU junior guard Mallary Gillespie has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, earning her second honor of the season and her career.

The Vineyard, Utah, native scored in double digits for the 14th time this season with a team and game-high 21 points in the Cougars' 69-65 win over TCU. She netted 18 of her 21 points from beyond the arc and from the free-throw line, going 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. She was 5-for-16 (.313) from the field, including 3-for-9 (.333) at three-point range. She also collected four assists, three rebounds and two steals.

In league games, Gillespie leads the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game. She's second on the team in assists with 26 and fifth in steals with six to date.

She received her first league honor on Dec., 18 after picking up a career high 30 points vs. Weber State.
