BYU will need to win one of its next two games to win the outright title.

Sophomore quarterback Max Hall totaled 331 yards passing on 26-of-37 attempts and had three touchdown completions in BYU's 35-10 victory over Wyoming on Saturday to clinch a share of the Cougars' second straight MWC championship. Hall, who eclipsed the 3,000-yard mark during Saturday's game, became the Mountain West Conference's all-time sophomore passing leader with 3,121 yards this season, breaking Wyoming's Casey Bramlet's previous mark of 3,069 yards. Hall set the record on a 10-yard touchdown completion to Michael Reed to give BYU a 28-3 lead with 10:46 left in the third quarter. Hall also climbed to the top of the national leader board, racking up more yards this season than any other sophomore quarterback in the country. Hall finished the day completing over 70 percent of his attempts and was credited with three touchdown completions, including a three-yard completion to Matt Allen in the second quarter that would prove to be the game-winning touchdown. After taking a 35-10 lead with 11:42 left in the fourth quarter, Hall did not play the remainder of the game. Hall has five 300-yard games this season. Hall's 331-yard performance marked the first time this season the Cowboys had allowed an opponent to pass for over 300 yards.
