Kindy Longmore, Sophomore, Iona, Idaho
Longmore competed in the 200 meters and 60 meters at the Lumberjack Indoor Invitational, finishing second in the 200 meters with a time of 25.28 and seventh in the 60 meters with a time of 7.84.
"She had two very good runs," BYU women's coach Craig Poole said. "Not only that, they were two of her lifetime bests."
Longmore sliced close to a whole second off her career best mark from last season in the 200 meters and broke her previous 60-meter record by .13 seconds.
Matt Weirich, Senior, Fredericksburg, Texas
Weirich set a national provisional mark of 17-00.75 in the pole vault at the Lumberjack Indoor Invitational in Flagstaff, Ariz.
"I think Matt's starting to get things back together from where we left he last season, and I'm fairly confident that he'll go quite a bit higher as the season continues," BYU men's head coach Mark Robison said.
Last year, Weirich cleared 17-05.00 at the West Regionals, good for fourth place. He also placed fifth at the Mountain West Conference Championships and competed in the NCAA Championships.
Kevin Biesinger, Sophomore, South Jordan, Utah
Biesinger placed second in the 400 meters, third in the 200 meters and anchored the victorious 4x400 team at the Lumberjack Indoor Invitational. He ran a 48.22 in the 400 meters, a 22.25 in the 20 meters and his 4x400 team ran a 3:19.58.
"He's running very well considering he just got off his mission in the summer," Robison said. "He's running faster now than he did his freshman year already."
