Chelsi Petersen, Freshman, St. George, Utah
Chelsi Petersen won the long jump at the Air Force Invitational on Saturday, jumping a lifetime best of 19-04.00.
Petersen's leap was six inches farther than any of the other 18 competitors in the event. The mark is tied for the second longest so far this season in the Mountain West Conference.
Petersen also participated in the heptathon on Friday, placing fourth overall with 3,269 total points.
Carlee Clark-Platt, Senior, Bozeman, Mont.
Carlee Clark-Platt was .28 seconds away from setting a national provisional mark in the 800-meter run at the University of Washington Invitational on Saturday. Her time of 2:09.28 is the fastest in the conference so far this season.
Clark-Platt was also part of the distance medley relay team that set a national provisional mark of 11:16.24.
Last season, Clark-Platt broke the MWC Indoor Championship record and Albuquerque Convention Center record in the 800 meters with her time of 2:09.43 and was part of the MWC Indoor Championship and Albuquerque Convention Center record-setting distance medley relay team that finished in 11:37.96 at the MWC Indoor Championships.
Kyle Perry, Junior, Sandy, Utah
Kyle Perry set the second-fastest mile time in the nation so far this season for collegiate runners at the UW Invitational. Perry's time of 3:59.16 automatically qualifies him for nationals and marks the second fastest indoor mile time in MWC history.
Perry is only the second Cougar to ever break the four-minute barrier indoors. Eight-time All-American Doug Padilla ran a 3:56.6 in 1981 when he was also the two-mile national champion.
Robert Low, Junior, Provo, Utah
Robert Low vaulted 17-07.00 at the Air Force Invitational on Saturday, tying him with Air Force vaulter Nicolas Frawley with the highest mark in the MWC this season. Low's lifetime-best mark places him as the third-best vaulter in the nation.
Last year, Low finished third in the conference indoor meet and second in the conference outdoor meet.
