This past weekend, three players from the BYU football team attended the birthday party for two of the four children of Clint and Shiloah Gilmore of West Valley City, Utah. Following is a letter the football office received from Clint Gilmore.

Let me commend you on the fine young men that you have in your football program. I am the father of four sons (ages 12, 10, 7 & 4). My two oldest just celebrated their birthdays at a party at our house in West Valley.

My wife is first cousins with Vic So'oto (her mom and Vic's mom are sisters). My wife invited Vic to come to the birthday party because she figured that the 20+ kids (10-12 year-olds) that were expected to come would think it was cool to meet a BYU Football player. The party was held this past Saturday from 6:00-9:00 PM. I am sure these guys could have found something else to do with their time on a Saturday night, but I am grateful to each of them for coming.

Vic brought JJ Diluigi, G Pittman & Terrance Hooks. All four were very gracious, taking photos with the kids and engaging them. They even played red-rover and dodge ball. The kids loved it! I am enclosing some photographs of the party with your players.

JJ proved to be the master of dodge ball, he caught just about everything thrown his way. Terrance was hobbled due to injury so he couldn't horse around much with the kids, but he cracked everyone up with commentary during the games. G Pittman seemed to be taking most of the jokes made by Terrance in stride and provided a bit of comic relief when my neighbor stopped by with his dog. Apparently, G is a little afraid of even small dogs. He plays Division IA football and has a tattoo of a dog on his arm, but he made sure he was behind Terrance any time the dog approached. And of course we love Vic and are very grateful to him for inviting his friends over to the birthday party.

You should be proud of your players, I certainly am. I thought you should know.
