COLORADO SPRINGS -- BYU led the Mountain West Conference in academics in the Spring, as 148 student-athletes were named to the Spring 2008 Academic All-MWC team. The Cougars topped other MWC schools by a significant margin, naming 54 more student-athletes than the second-highest institution.

A total of 702 students were named to the team throughout the conference. New Mexico followed BYU with 94 students, then UNLV and Utah (88), Air Force (83), Wyoming (74), Colorado State (70), TCU (59) and San Diego State (52).

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Student-athletes must also be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
