PROVO -- Brigham Young University football media relations director Jeff Reynolds has accepted a position as director of communications for the Sutherland Institute in Salt Lake City and will be leaving BYU. His last day will be Saturday, Sept. 13.

Reynolds has served the past nine and a half years as an assistant director of BYU’s athletic communications department and director of media relations for BYU’s football program.

“I am thankful for Jeff and our partnership over the past four years,” BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall said. “We have learned together and become trusted friends. I am appreciative of Jeff's professionalism, candor, intellect and spirit. He has contributed greatly in my personal development as a head coach, as well as the success we have enjoyed as an institution and football program. I am excited for Jeff and his family as they embrace a new opportunity and chapter in their lives.”

In addition to his duties with the football program, Reynolds oversaw the media relations efforts for the men's volleyball progam, track and field, and assisted with the training and mentoring of student assistants.

“We are sad to see Jeff go, but realize this is a good opportunity for him and his family,” said associate athletics director Duff Tittle. “I want to publicly thank Jeff for his dedicated service to BYU and especially athletic communications.
