PROVO -- Junior defender Andrea Willis was named to the SoccerBuzz Elite team of the week for the week of Sept. 15.
Willis, from Riverside, Calif., scored one of BYU's two goals in it's 2-0 win over previously undefeated Michigan State on Sept. 19. That goal was the Willis' first of the season. Her play also helped the Cougars to a 1-0 win over No. 19 Miami. As a key member of the Cougars' defensive formation, she has played a key role in the team's three-game winning streak, the last two of which have been shutouts.
An All-Region defender in 2007, this is Willis' second selection to the team. Only 18 players are named to the team each week. This selection is the first for BYU this year.
The Cougars are in action Thursday, Sept. 25 when they face off against Cal at 4:00 in California. Fans can follow the action in a live stat feed available at www.byucougars.com/soccer_w/.
