LAS -- Junior Camille Gardner is taking advantage of her opportunity to shine in her first start of the season by scoring a one-over-par 73 in the second round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.

Gardner had the best round on the team, helping the Cougars settle in at the No. 15 spot at 14-over-par with one more round to go. Overall, she is currently in a tie for the No. 63 spot at +6, having improved her first round score of 77 by four strokes. Gardner had a birdie and a bogey on the day.

Freshman Maggie Yuan is leading the Cougars in a tie for 39th place after she finished the second round three-over-par and +2 after both rounds. She made four birdies in the second round, but bogeyed five holes and double-bogeyed the first hole.

Junior Shayla Forsey and sophomore Jade Bollinger are both in a tie for the No. 59 spot at +5 overall after they had two-over-par scores in the second round. Both made two birdies each, but suffered multiple bogeys.

Senior leader Natalia Jimenez had a rough day, double-bogeying two holes and finishing the round with a 6-over-par effort after going one-over-par in the first round. She is in the No. 71 spot at +7 overall.

The Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown is being played at the par-72 Boulder Creek Golf Course and features seven ranked schools such as No. 5 Oklahoma State, No. 16 Louisville and No. 19 Pepperdine.
