PROVO -- BYU women's soccer head coach Jennifer Rockwood will be teaming up with Celtic Storm Soccer club, one of the top youth girls clubs in the state and headquartered in Utah County. Coach Rockwood will join Celtic as the Director of the Celtic Storm Academy, a specialized soccer program for young girls ages U-7 through U-10. Registration for the upcoming year will begin on May 12 for anyone interested in signing up for the Summer/Fall/Spring season.
“I am very excited for the opportunity to direct the Celtic Storm Academy Program," Rockwood said. "I have been involved in coaching younger players for nearly 30 years. I love working with the youth and providing a positive environment where they will learn, grow, and develop both on and off the field. I will have a tremendous staff of current and former BYU women’s soccer players who are also excited about the opportunity to be involved in the academy."
Coach Rockwood is joined in the effort by former Cougar standout and current director of operations Jennie Smith.
"Not only will the staff be tremendous coaches for all the participants, but they are also outstanding role models who have excel in all areas of their lives including academics, and athletics," Rockwood said.
The Celtic Storm Academy provides young girls with individual training opportunities that focus on basic technical and tactical development. Their goal is to provide all players with a positive, fun, and competitive environment where they have the opportunity to train for future competition.
