STOCKTON -- Sophomore Zac Blair shot an 8-under 63 and the BYU men's golf team gained ground Tuesday as day two of the Stockton Sports Commission Pacific Invitational concluded in Stockton, Calif.

For the second round in a row Blair eagled hole No. 10 and improved on a first-round 77 to move into a tie for 12th place and improve his overall mark to two under par.

"It was definitely fun to see Zac (Blair) respond after a tough first round," said BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank. "It was a good comeback for him."

After shooting a first-round 70, senior Cameron Edens slipped in the standings by shooting a 5-over 76 to move him into a tie for 39th.

Junior Daniel Reid improved on a first-round 74 with a 2-over 71 in round two. He goes into the final day tied for 42nd overall. Sophomores Alton Anderson Jr. and Adam Tebbs finished round two tied for 48th and 58th respectively, with rounds of 75 and 80.

"Hopefully we can come out on the final day and post some good scores," Brockbank said. "We need to be able to have more than one good score that we can count."

The third and final day of the tournament begins Wednesday, with shotgun starts kicking off at 8 a.m. PST. Follow third-round action live by clicking HERE or by visiting www.golfstat.com.
