PROVO, Utah -- The BYU football team will conclude spring practices on Saturday, April 9, with a Blue/White Game and Kids Clinic at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Fans are encouraged to attend and no admission will be charged.
The clinic begins at 11 a.m. and will be conducted by players on the team for schoolchildren up to the eighth grade. The Spring Game will follow at noon, featuring players and coaching staff divided into Blue and White teams for a running-clock contest of approximately 70 plays.
“I like this team. We are having a great spring that has been very competitive,” BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall said. “We have been fortunate to avoid injuries on the offensive line that would have prevented us from utilizing a game format. I look forward to seeing how we compete against each other as we wrap up spring practices.”
The Blue/White Game will be the team’s final practice prior to opening fall camp in August in preparation for the program’s first year as a football independent with television partner ESPN.
The 2011 schedule includes opponents from the Southeastern Conference, Big 12, Pac-12, Conference USA, Western Athletic Conference, Mountain West Conference and Big Sky. The 12-game schedule kicks off at Ole Miss on Sept. 3 and concludes at Hawaii on Dec. 3.
Season tickets are now available through the Marriott Center Ticket Office (801-422-BYU1) or online at BYUtickets.com. Season ticket packages reflect the team’s seven-game home schedule in 2011, one more contest than last year, with season ticket package per-game prices staying the same as the 2010 season.
