82 Named Academic All-MWC

PROVO, Utah—The men and women’s track and field teams had 82 athletes receive the Mountain West Conference All-Conference Academic award.

Those awarded included 32 athletes from the men’s track and field team and 50 from the women’s.  The highest GPA’s represented from each team include Jared Rohatinsky, with a 3.98 GPA in accounting, and Elizabeth Portanova and Elizabeth Ricks, who both have maintained a 4.0 GPA in their respective majors. 

The 82 athletes from the track and field team join 782 other student-athletes from across the MWC who were named to the Academic All-Mountain West team.  Of the 782, 155 were BYU student-athletes.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
