PROVO, Utah — ESPN today announced the BYU vs. San Jose State football game on October 8, 2011, is scheduled for broadcast on ESPNU at 8:15 p.m. MT (7:15 Pacific).
The Cougars will face the Spartans for the first time since the 1998 season when the two schools were members of the Western Athletic Conference. In the last meeting, BYU outlasted San Jose State, 46-43, at Cougar Stadium. BYU and San Jose State first met in football in 1946. The Spartans currently hold a 9-5 series advantage.
