SAN BRUNO, Calif. – BYU men’s basketball was picked to finish third in its first season in the West Coast Conference, as voted on by the WCC coaches.

The Cougars return seven letterwinners and three starters from last season’s team that finished first in the Mountain West Conference, advanced to the Sweet 16 and won a program-record 32 games. Junior forward Brandon Davies was one of 10 players selected to the Preseason All-WCC Team. Davies averaged 11.1 points and 6.2 rebounds last season.

BYU received one first-place vote and 52 points overall, finishing behind Gonzaga (seven first-place votes and 63 points) and Saint Mary’s (one first-place vote and 56 points).
