Player Notes
Haws finished with 24 points, five rebounds, one steal and an assist. Haws scored 20 or more points every game of the tournament and made 29 of 30 free throws and was named to the WCC All-Tournament Team. It was his fourth straight game scoring at least 20 points and 47th straight scoring in double digits. His 20-point game was the 50th of his career and 21st this season.
Haws was 11 of 11 from the free throw line Tuesday and has now hit 26 straight free throws. He finished the tournament with 29 made free throws, which broke the tournament record set by Gonzaga's Sam Dower Jr. who entered the night having made 23 straight free throws. Dower was 0 of 3 from the free throw line to finish with 23 made free throws. The previous WCC record holders were John Rillie of Gonzaga and Dan Weiss of Santa Clara who hit 22 free throws in 1995 and 1988, respectively.
In BYU conference tournament history, Haws is now second in career free throws made with 40. He trails Jimmer Fredette by 30 free throws. Haws is also fifth in career conference tournament free throws attempted (42) and first in free throw percentage (.952).
Haws also passed Mekeli Wesley and Ken Roberts in career free throws made and is now fourth in BYU history.
Collinsworth left the game with a knee injury halfway through the second half. He finished with 13 points, six rebounds and an assist. Collinsworth did take over the BYU career lead for rebounds in conference tournament games with 58. He passed both Gary Trost and Lee Cummard to take over the top spot.
Collinsworth was also named to the WCC All-Tournament Team after recording double-doubles in BYU's first two tournament games. He set career highs in both points and rebounds in BYU's quarterfinal win over LMU.
Winder finished with three rebounds, two steals and an assist. It was the first time in his last six games where he didn't score in double digits. Winder finished the WCC tournament with eight steals, two off the WCC record of 10.
Mika finished with eight points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and an assist. It was his second straight game grabbing double digit rebounds. His four offensive rebounds moved him into a tie for the most offensive rebounds in a season with Rafael Araujo (91). Mika already owns the freshman record for most offensive rebounds in a season.
Austin finished with two points, five rebounds and a steal.
Carlino fouled out with 37 seconds remaining. He finished with eight points, two assists, one steal and a rebound.
Carlino's two assists gives him 146 for the year, which is the 13th most in a season. He also has 19 career conference tournament assists, which is sixth most at BYU. His steal also gives him the sixth most steals in a season tied with Robbie Reid with 61.
Bartley finished with nine points, four rebounds and a steal. He scored the most points in a game since he had 14 against UMass on Dec. 7.
Team Notes
Collinsworth, Winder, Haws, Austin and Mika started for the second straight game. BYU is now 1-1 with that group of starters.
Haws and Collinsworth were BYU's only players who scored in double digits. BYU is now 2-1 when just two players score in double figures.
BYU had its season-long six-game winning streak snapped.
BYU's 42 rebounds Tuesday night broke the WCC tournament record for team rebounds in a tournament. The Cougars totaled 129 rebounds over their three games in the tournament and broke the 1989 Loyola Marymount team's record of 128 rebounds. BYU fell three short of the team free throws made record with 68.
Runs
With 13 minutes left in the game after Collinsworth left with an injury, BYU started a 10-0 run. Bartley hit a jumper and a free throw, Mika hit two free throws, Carlino hit two free throws and Haws hit a 3-pointer in the corner.

"Our guys fought really hard. It wasn't as efficient as we've been but our guys were battling and playing hard…We took a lot more shots than they did, just trying to get something to go for us. The energy of the guys and the effort, especially trying to overcome that deficit was there. It's kind of the personality of this group. They've been resilient all year long. We got it to single digits and we needed to make some plays and get some stops and get some scores and Gonzaga was too good, up to the task."
On Collinsworth's injury:
"The doctor's right now are calling it an injured knee. We'll have an MRI on it tomorrow and we'll see the extent of the injury. He was in a lot of pain and wasn't able to return so we'll have to check it out."
