BYU Football Media Day on Wednesday

PROVO, Utah – In preparation for the 2015 season, BYU will host its fifth annual Football Media Day on Wednesday, June 24, at the BYU Broadcasting Building.

In addition to the many interview sessions attended by the media throughout the day, fans can expect a day filled with BYU football programming on BYUtv and other news outlets, including ESPN3. BYUtv will broadcast 21 straight hours of programming about BYU football starting at 6 a.m. MT, including four hours of live shows. An additional three hours of live online video chats with current and former players will be available on BYUtvSports.com along with constant social media interaction throughout the day. Highlighting the day will be two new live shows and a special two-hour BYU Sports Nation. The first live show, "The State of the Program," will air at 9 a.m. MDT (11 a.m. EDT) and feature athletic director Tom Holmoe, head coach Bronco Mendenhall and offensive coordinator Robert Anae discussing the football program as it prepares for the 2015 season. "The State of the Program" will also be simulcast on ESPN3 in addition to BYUtv and BYUtvSports.com.

Following the first live show, "BYU Sports Nation" will air at 10 a.m. MDT (12 p.m. EDT) on both BYUtv and BYU Radio with an extended two-hour show featuring live interviews with Coach Mendenhall, Taysom Hill, Jamaal Williams as well as other current and former players.

The second live show, “BYU Football: Four Decades of Dominance,” will air at 2 p.m. MDT (4 p.m. EDT) and feature alumni from the each decade since 1975 reviewing, discussing and providing inside analysis of select great moments within their respective eras. Football alums participating include Marc Wilson (1975-79), Glen Kozlowski (1981, 83-85), Ty Detmer (1987-91), Derwin Gray (1989-92), Omarr Morgan (1996-97), Chris Hoke (1994, 97-00), Jonny Harline (2004-06), Dennis Pitta (2004, 07-09) and Harvey Unga (2006-10) along with many others from each era.

BYU Radio, available on SiriusXM Channel 143, will also be part of the day with original content along with simulcasts of the new BYUtv shows. Additional local, live radio broadcasts will originate from Football Media Day, including special live coverage on KSL Newsradio from 1-3 p.m. MDT.

If you miss "The State of the Program," "BYU Football: Four Decades of Dominance" or "BYU Sports Nation" during the day, they will be rebroadcast later during primetime from 6-10 p.m. MT. They will also be available on demand at BYUtvSports.com.

Other shows on BYUtv during the day include replays of the 2013 BYU-Texas game and the 2006 BYU-Utah game and rebroadcasts of "BYU Football: The Top 50 Plays," "Sports Nation: Signing Day Special" and "BYU Football: A Polynesian Pipeline."

In addition to BYUtv's programming throughout the day, BYUtvSports.com will be offering live video webchats with coaches and current and former players. Fans can submit questions for the webchats via Twitter using #BYUMediaDay. Information on webchat times and guests is available on BYUtvSports.com.

There will also be social media interaction with Williams, Hill and Mitch Mathews as they take control of the @BYUCougars Twitter account. Additional interaction will take place on the BYU football Facebook page, the official Instagram account of BYU Athletics and BYUcougars.com. A behind-the-scenes look at media day will be available on Thursday on the BYU Athletics's YouTube site.
