PROVO, Utah – No. 13 seed BYU women’s volleyball heads to Lexington, Kentucky, this week for the 2015 NCAA Tournament Regionals.

The Cougars (28-3) will first face off against No. 4 seed Nebraska Friday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m. EST. With a win, BYU would face the winner of No. 5 seed Washington and No. 12 Ohio State Saturday, Dec. 12, at 4 p.m. EST.

Last Time Out

The Cougars stayed at home for the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament, beating Ohio 3-1 in the first round before sweeping Western Kentucky to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.

Nebraska

  • Nebraska (28-4) finished in second place in the B1G standings, behind league-winner Minnesota.
  • The Huskers have won 12-straight matches, including collecting eight sweeps along the way, for its longest streak since 2011.
  • Nebraska is making its 34th-consecutive NCAA tournament appearance and holds a 94-30 overall tournament record.
  • The Huskers are led by Kadie Rolfzen’s 3.26 kills per set, 11.47 assists per set from Kelly Hunter, J Wong-Orantes’ 4.44 digs average and 1.59 blocks per set from Amber Rolfzen.

Washington

  • Washington (30-2) finished the Pac-12 tied for first place with USC.
  • The Huskies have won 13-straight matches, including eight sweeps in the stretch.
  • This is Washington’s 14th-consecutive NCAA tournament appearance. The Huskies have advanced to at least the regional semifinals now in each of the past four years, like BYU.
  • Washington is led by 2.94 kills per set by Courtney Schwan, 6.14 assists per set by Katy Beals, Cassie Strickland’s 4.33 digs average and Lianna Sybeldon’s 1.37 blocks per set.

Ohio State

  • Ohio State (25-9) finished in sixth place in the B1G standings.
  • The Buckeyes have won six of their last nine matches, falling to Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
  • Ohio State is one of 13 schools to reach the regional semifinals in at least three of the last five NCAA tournaments (BYU, Nebraska and Washington are also included in the list).
  • The Buckeyes are led by Elizabeth Campbell’s 3.63 kills per set, 9.25 assists per set from Taylor Hughes, Valeria Leon’s 4.35 assist average and 1.25 blocks per set by Taylor Sandbothe.
