“BYU-Utah is one of the great college rivalries in the country. There’s a lot of history and tradition between the two schools and I’m glad we were able to extend the series through 2022,” said BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe. “I’ve loved this rivalry as a player, coach and administrator, and look forward to the future games.”
Since 1922, when the Cougars began playing varsity football, BYU and Utah have played 91 times with Utah holding a 56-31-4 series advantage. Kickoff times and broadcast plans for future games will be announced at a later date. To learn about the history of the Deseret First Duel visit DFCU.com.
