PROVO, Utah – Eleven recruits have inked letters with the BYU swim and dive team for 2017-18 season from the November signing period.

Madison Balish, who attends Punahou High School (Honolulu, Hawai'i) and swims for the Punahou Aquatics Institute, specializes in the breaststroke. At the Hawaii State Championships in February, Balish placed first in the 100 butterfly and the 100 breast. She also was a qualifier for the Junior Nationals.

Carter Flint swims for Mclean High School (Virginia) and Machine Aquatics and specializes in the breaststroke and the individual medley. He participated in the National Club Swimming Association’s Summer Swimming Championships in August, placing sixth in both the 50 and 100-meter breaststroke. Flint was also a qualifier in the Junior Nationals.

Madelyn Flower, who attends Murray High School (Utah) and swims for West Valley Aquatics, specializes in the breaststroke. At the Utah 4A State Championships last February, Flower won the 100 breaststroke with a new 4A state record and placed fourth in the 200 individual medley.

Elizabeth Holmes attends Bingham High School (South Jordan, Utah) and has been diving for over five years. She is the Utah High School Girl's State Diving Champion for the past three years and is currently competing for her fourth state championship title. Holmes, a Junior Nationals qualifier, placed in the top three at the Amateur Athletic Union Nationals (AAU) and the USA Nationals.

Kaylie Jackson dives for Perry High School (Gilbert, Arizona). Perry placed third at Arizona’s 2016 Division I Swimming and Diving Championships.

Paula Garcia Lopez is a sprinter and flyer from Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Lopez is ranked in the top 10 of the 50 free and 50 fly. She was also a finalist at the Short Course America in Texas.

Luke Lyons, who attends Mountain View High School (Mesa, Arizona) and swims for the Mesa Aquatics Club, is a sprint freestyler/butterflyer. In November, Lyons competed in Arizona’s Division I Swimming and Diving Championships, where he placed second and third in the 100 fly and 50 free, respectively. He also qualified to participate in the Juinor Nationals. 

Morgan Paul dives for Liberty High School in Illinois. She recently placed eighth in the 2016 Girls’ Illinois State Championships.

Christopher Pierce attends Mill Creek High School (Buford, Georgia) and swims for Swim Atlanta. He is a middle-distance  swimmer, who participates primarily in the backstroke and individual medley. Pierce competed in Georgia’s 6A Championships in February, placing fourth in both the 200 free and 100 back. He was also a qualifier for the Junior Nationals. 

Brad Prolo swims for San Clemente High School (California) and San Clemente Aquatics. He swims breaststroke, butterfly and the individual medley. He was a B-finalist in the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the 2015 Speedo Winter Juniors West. 

Madeline Zarchin, who attends Quince Orchard High School (Gaithersburg, Maryland) and swims for Nation’s Capital Swim Club, swims butterfly and individual medley. Zarchin placed second in the 200 individual medley and third in the 100 fly at the 2016 Maryland Public 4-5 State Championships.
