PROVO, Utah – Four outstanding athletes signed scholarship agreements with BYU softball and will join the Cougars for the 2022 season.
“We are extremely excited about our 2021 recruiting class,” BYU head coach Gordon Eakin said. “It will continue the high-level success we have had in recruiting great players with tremendous character. Our future is bright.”

Jaelynn Lambert
Temecula, California | Chaparral High School | Outfield | 5-6
“Jaelynn is a five-tool athlete. She is a student of the game and has a very high softball IQ. Her athleticism, speed, power and arm strength makes her a dangerous weapon both on offense and defense. As a left-handed hitter she can bunt, slap or hit it out of the park. As an outfielder she get a great jump on the ball and covers a lot of ground. Jaelynn is a hard worker and will make an immediate impact in our line-up. She has All American potential.”

“Emma is a strong athlete. She is very versatile and is fearless as she attacks any challenge. Emma can play the corners, catcher or the outfield because she is such a good athlete. Offensively she will bring great power numbers to our line-up. She can run, hit, defend and with that fearless approach the sky is the limit for Emma. We are very excited to have her join our team. Emma has the potential to set records not only at BYU but also NCAA records.”

She will put great pressure on the defense. Recruited as a second baseman, Alexis can also play other positions due to her athleticism and versatility. Alexis is one of those players that completes a line-up and we have high expectations for her career. It will be exciting to see her game develop and reach those heights.”
