PROVO, Utah – BYU makes its first trip to Santa Clara since the 2017-18 season this week when the Cougars face the Broncos on Thursday, Jan. 27. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. MST.

Thursday’s contest will be broadcast on ESPNU. It will also be broadcast live on BYU Sports Network and on BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143/89.1 FM HD2 and KSL 102.7 FM/1160 AM.

  • BYU improved to 17-4 overall and 5-1 in West Coast Conference play following a 78-65 win over Portland on Saturday evening at the Marriott Center.
  • Fousseyni Traore was named the WCC Co-Freshman of the Week, for his third freshman of the week honor this season, after recording double-doubles in both of the Cougars' wins last week.
  • Traore is one of four Cougars scoring in double figures during WCC play this season, joined by Alex Barcello, Te’Jon Lucas and Seneca Knight.

  • Santa Clara put an end to a two-game losing streak on Monday evening with a 78-74 overtime victory over San Diego. The Broncos enter Thursday’s contest at 12-7 overall and 2-2 in WCC play.
  • Jalen Williams ranks second in the WCC in scoring as the 6-foot-6 guard is averaging 18.3 points per game, shooting 51.0 percent from the floor, 40.0 percent from 3-point range and 87.2 percent from the free throw line.
