PROVO, Utah — BYU men’s golf travels to Palo Alto, California, to tee it up at The Goodwin hosted by the University of Stanford, March 24-26.
After a sixth-place finish at the Lamkin Invitational, the Cougars are poised for a bounce-back performance at the Stanford Golf Course this weekend.
Carson Lundell, Zac Jones, Cole Ponich, Tyson Shelley and David Timmins will start for the Cougars as the seek their second victory of the 2021-22 campaign.
BYU has competed at the Goodwin six times since their first appearance in the event in 2015. They have finished in the top-10 three times in six appearances as a team.
Four Cougars have finished in the top-25 at The Goodwin with Rhett Rasmussen taking home the lone Cougar victory at the event thanks to a second round 64. In 2019, Peter Kuest shot 2-under for the tournament to finish third, BYU's second best individual finish at the event.
BYU will play in a 28-team field alongside host Stanford, Cal Poly, Drexel, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Hawai’I Hilo, Howard, Little Rock, Long Beach State, Miami, Northwestern, Rutgers, San Jose State, Southern Methodist University, Saint Mary’s UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UCLA, Colorado, Denver, Nevada, Oregon, San Diego, San Francisco, Washington, Washington State and Wofford.
The 54-hole event will be held at the par-71, 6,742 yard Stanford Golf Course. with18-holes being played each of the three tournament days to determine the team and individual champion.
