SAN MATEO, Calif. — BYU women’s soccer junior forward Brecken Mozingo was named West Coast Conference (WCC) Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Monday. 

No. 15 BYU finished out its conference schedule with two road matches against San Diego and Loyola Marymount, securing two victories, moving to 10-0-2 overall and 6-0-3 in the WCC. The Cougars finished conference play ranked No. 2, and have moved to No. 20 in the RPI rankings.

Mozingo was one of six Cougars to score against San Diego on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at Torero Stadium. In Saturday’s matchup against LMU, the forward notched a brace after scoring a penalty kick and a left-footed goal from outside the penalty arc to secure the win for the Cougars.

With three goals last week, the Sandy, Utah native now leads the Cougars in goals with 12, which is the second-highest in the WCC behind Santa Clara's Izzy D'Aquila with 18. Mozingo leads the conference in assists with 10 and has a team-high of 34 points after the conclusion of the regular season. 

Mozingo finds herself in the BYU record book with 10 assists in a single season, which is tied for fourth-highest in BYU history. She is now ranked No. 4 in most shots in a season, with 104, right behind former Cougar Sara Reading's 107. With three multi-goal games this season, Mozingo is also tied for fourth-most multi-goal games amongst Cougars.
