PROVO, Utah – BYU football added transfer cornerback Kamden Garrett from Weber State on Saturday.

Garrett, is a 5-foot-11, 175 pounder and a veteran of 37 games over four years with the Wildcat program. He posted 75 career tackles with 53 solo tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack and 14 pass breakups in his career. 

From Las Vegas, Nevada, Garrett helped Weber State to two Big Sky championships and three trips to the FCS playoffs during his time in Ogden playing for former head coach Jay Hill, who is now in his first season at defensive coordinator and associate head coach at BYU.

In 2022, the Centennial High School grad played in all 13 games and received All-Big Sky honorable mention for the first time in his career while helping Weber State to a 10-win season and an FCS playoff berth. He had 26 total tackles, including 20 solo stops and six pass breakups. 

As a sophomore in 2021, Garrett appeared in nine games, registering 19 tackles and three pass breakups to follow up a 2021 spring Covid-19 season where he played in all six games. 

Garrett helped the Wildcats to a fourth-consecutive Big Sky title during the spring season and an appearance in the playoffs. 

As a freshman in 2019, Garrett played in nine games, posting 13 tackles along the way to a Big Sky championship and a run to the FCS semifinals.
