The Cougars will open up their season at home as they host the Autumn Classic, on Sept. 8 at the Clarence F. Robison Track and Field Complex in Provo, Utah.  

Two weeks later, they will travel to Springfield, Oregon for the 2023 Bill Dellinger Invitational. The last time that BYU competed in this meet was in 2019 when alum, Whittni Orton took home a first-place finish 

Closing out the regular season, the team will be introduced to this year's national meet course as they travel to Virginia to compete in the XC-23 Pre-National meet Oct.14.  

October 28, the Cougars will compete at their first-ever Big 12 Cross Country Championship meet. This year's conference championship will take place in Ames, Iowa at the Iowa State University XC Course. 

The team will then head to the NCAA Mountain Regional meet on Nov. 12. The meet will be held at Chaparral Ridge XC Course in Lubbock, TX. At this meet, the Cougars will look to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Earlysville, Virginia on Nov. 18.

BYU returns 2022 cross country All-Americans Aubrey Frentheway and Lexy Hallady-Lowry to this year’s squad. With 10 combined All-America honors in cross country and track and field, Frentheway and Halladay-Lowry will look to lead this year’s team as they enter the Big 12.  

The Cougars also return Anastaysia Davis, Alissa Fielding and Carmen Alder, all of which competed for the Cougars at the 2022 NCAA Cross Country National Championships.  

The team welcomes Carlee Hansen from the transfer portal. Hansen competed for the Tar Heels of North Carolina from 2021-23. In North Carolina, she earned ACC First Team honors in the 1500m and indoor mile in both 2022 and 2023. From Bountiful, Utah, the junior will have two years of eligibility competing for the Cougars.  

BYU welcomes former high school standouts in freshmen Alona Haymore (Queen Creek HS), Grace Hutchinson (Buchanan HS), Elyse Jessen (Alta HS), Kylie Olsen (Skyridge HS), Raygan Peterson (Timpanogos HS), Vanessa Alder (Stuttgart HS) and McCall Dame (El Camino HS).  

The Cougars will kick-off the season at home Sept. 8 for the Autumn Classic.
